Trevor Cortese, CIP
President
Trevor founded TC Insurance Adjusters with a simple belief: clients deserve experienced professionals who take ownership, communicate openly, and do the job right. With more than three decades in the insurance industry, he brings deep expertise across all lines of insurance, specializing in Accident Benefits and Bodily Injury investigations. His hands-on leadership continues to shape the way every claim is handled at TC.
When Trevor started the company nearly two decades ago, he made a decision that still guides the firm today: no claim would ever be treated like a number. Behind every file is a person going through what may be one of the hardest days of their life, and a client trusting TC to handle it right. That belief extends to how the team operates internally — a culture built on trust, respect and genuinely supporting one another, because adjusters who feel valued do their best work for the people who need it most.
Ron Macdonald
Senior Adjuster
With more than 40 years in the insurance industry, Ron brings exceptional experience to commercial and residential property and liability claims. His background includes leadership roles in independent adjusting, insurance brokerage and law enforcement, giving him a practical perspective that clients value when navigating complex claims.
Amanda McCurdy, CIP CFEI
Branch Manager, Exeter
Amanda joined TC within months of the company's founding in 2008, becoming its first employee and first branch manager since 2018 leading the Exeter office. She brings extensive experience across property, agricultural, liability and catastrophic injury claims. Licensed in all classes of insurance and holding both her CIP and NAFI designations, she is known for her practical approach, technical knowledge and commitment to delivering consistent, high-quality service.
Sandra Stec, CIP CSc MA
Claims Adjuster
Sandra joined TC Insurance Adjusters in 2022 as a Claims Assistant before advancing to Independent Adjuster, where she now handles Accident Benefits and Auto Physical Damage claims. Her academic background in Kinesiology gives her added insight into the physical recovery process, which she brings to her work supporting claimants after an accident. Recently earning her CIP designation, Sandra is committed to continued professional development. Known for her organization, responsiveness, and clear communication, she is passionate about helping insureds navigate the claims process and providing dependable support during what can often be a difficult time.
Dawn Simons
Senior Adjuster
Dawn brings more than two decades of experience in accident benefits, bodily injury and personal injury litigation to TC Insurance Adjusters. She began her career as an Accident Benefits Litigation Law Clerk, managing files ranging from chronic pain to catastrophic injury claims, before expanding into medical-legal file review, claims consulting, and client relations roles across the personal injury and rehabilitation sectors. Along the way, she built a reputation for thorough file analysis, clear communication with legal counsel and insurers, and a genuine ability to move complex files forward.
Since joining TC a few years ago on a part-time basis, Dawn continues to draw on that depth of experience to support the firm's accident benefits work.
Anthony Edwards, CIP
Senior Claims Adjuster
Anthony combines technical expertise with a thoughtful, service-first approach to the claims he handles. Since joining TC in 2010, he has built extensive experience across Accident Benefits, Bodily Injury, Property, and Auto Physical Damage claims, while also leading the firm's subrogation program for commercial trucking insurers. Clients value his responsiveness, attention to detail and commitment to resolving claims efficiently.
Taylor Sparks, BA
Auto PD Adjuster/Admin
Taylor brings a strong foundation of customer service and administrative experience to TC Insurance Adjusters, backed by a degree in Criminology and a diploma in Human Resources. Since joining TC in 2024, Taylor has taken on a dual role — managing day-to-day administrative operations while also handling auto physical damage claims part-time — and is currently working toward the CIP designation to deepen that expertise further. With 13 years in customer service and 8 years in office administration, Taylor combines reliability and attentiveness with a genuine commitment to getting things right for every client.
Jennifer Skonieczny
Administrative Assitant
Jennifer is the administrative engine of our Exeter adjusting team. Drawing on her experience in hospitality, news editorial, and years as a local insurance broker, she brings a strong service-focused perspective to the office. Her background has given her a unique understanding of the insurance industry. Jennifer's editorial eye and natural ability to build positive relationships are qualities that are particularly valuable in her role as a key link between our internal adjusters and external insurers.
A lifelong resident of South Huron, Jennifer brings a strong connection to the community in which we work. As the sole administrator in our Exeter office, she is often the first point of contact for the team, making her an integral part of the office’s day-to-day operations.
Mark Carreiro, CIP
Branch Manager, London
With almost 30 years experience in the insurance industry, with 21 of those in the Mutual system, Mark has accumulated a wealth of insurance knowledge, ranging from first party losses to complex losses involving specialty risks with multiple parties. This includes large scale losses involving multiple areas of coverage and exposures, with farm/agricultural included.
Mark has his CIP, and passed the NFP21 Fire investigation course. He also passes along his knowledge to the next generation by teaching part time in the insurance program at Fanshawe College. He prides himself on being able to handle any losses, and his timely and empathetic communication skills with clients that have suffered a loss. His prompt responses also extend to the insurers he works with, to ensure their expectations are met.
Julie Eppenberger
Auto PD Specialist
Julie has over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, most spent with one insurer before it was acquired by another company, and she joined TC a few years ago. Across that time, she's built deep experience in property, auto, and Accident Benefits claims, and now works part-time handling auto physical damage claims in a semi-retired capacity.
What sets Julie apart is her approach: she believes that putting herself in a claimant's shoes is what allows her to bring real compassion and guidance to a stressful situation, turning it into something more manageable. Kindness and caring aren't just how she works — they're how she tries to live.
Outside of work, her family — including her pets — is what matters most.
Roberta Cramer
Administrative Assistant
Roberta brings more than two decades of office administration and operations experience to TC Insurance Adjusters. Before joining TC, she managed day-to-day operations across multiple retail locations, overseeing scheduling, payroll coordination, financial tracking and vendor communication as the primary point of contact for staff and management alike. That background has given her a steady, organized approach to the administrative work she now supports at TC.
Outside of work, Roberta is a longtime volunteer in the local community, having spent years supporting local charitable initiatives.
Penelope Taylor
AB Technical Specialist
With over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, specifically in Accident Benefits, Penelope brings deep knowledge and expertise to her role as an Accident Benefits Technical Specialist at TCIA.
After retiring to Prince Edward Island, Penelope wasn't ready to fully step away from the work she'd built a career on, and joined the TC team, where she works remotely.
Outside of work, she stays busy with her two grandsons and her new puppy — named after her hometown back in England.
Kacie Brideau-Erb, CIP
Claims Adjuster
Kacie has been with TC Insurance Adjusters since 2018, handling Physical Damage, Property, Accident Benefits and Bodily Injury claims. Before joining TC, she spent six years at a Mutual Insurance Company, gaining broad experience across underwriting, claims representation, and Accident Benefits adjusting — giving her a well-rounded view of the claims process from multiple angles. She is a fully licensed adjuster and holds her CIP designation, along with training in the Statutory Accident Benefit Schedule.
Clients and colleagues know Kacie for her thorough, organized approach to claims handling and her steady communication throughout the process, from initial investigation through to negotiation and settlement.
